An ideal way to get your XBOX live gear up and running

The Good
Well, to start off, since Unreal Championship is Unreal Tournament 2003 on the XBOX, you can expect the same modes. Thats okay, because the modes are awesome. Double domination and bombing run are the distinctive modes, while plain old deathmatch, team, and CTF are there also.

The graphics, while not exactly up to its PC big brother, still prove to be excellent. The textures, gunshots, and areas all look amazing. Sound was also a plus, as all the sfx for voices, shots, and physical stuff was great. Control is laid out well, and all the downsides to a console shooter are absent. UC did a good job of mapping out commands, and while a mouse and keyboard is better, this still keeps the game going.

The Bad
Unfortunately, UC falls where UT2003 did too. I hated the character models, they all looked alike, and the little glows to seperate your team from the others was not enough. The character models were all boring and looked almost exactly the same. Not good at all.

The Bottom Line
UC is an ideal game for the new XBOX liver. For the XBOX, the game is very good, and the models aren't a huge issue. Still, the game isn't perfect, and that's why it earns a score of (4 OUT OF 5)

Unreal, that famous Quake wannabe....

The Good
Unreal had been a massive hit on the Pc. Where the infamous Quake left off, Unreal Championship took on. A very popular game as it was, known for it's online and multiplayer fun. This time, Unreal was taken to the Xbox and renamed Unreal Championship. In an effort to not lose it's amazing multiplayer options, DExpress made it Xbox Live compatible. How does it fare? First Person Shooters, as we know always seem to be best on the Pc, due to the controls. However, I have had no problem with the controls. They work really well and simple, almost the same as Halos controls. And, like Halo, the gameplay is fast and intense. With no Storymode, however. Just single player tournaments.with various different gameplay options. (Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Teammatch...) All are great fun. Endless killing and instant action make this game highly addictive, lots of brilliant and unique weapons to choose from, such as: The Link Gun and the Mini Gun. Each weapon has two different weapon firing types. adding strategy to the game. There are various different breeds of lifeforms, Juggernauts and Merceniares for example. Each different lifeform has better skills in different areas. Too, true for amazing enemy A.I, make this game a fun and addicting game to play, single player and Multiplayer. Graphiclly it's nice too. Graphics that rival Halo at the least. It's brilliantly presented and looks really good.

The Bad
So, it seems.....it's come down to this.... So, where does this game blow? Hmm.. there is a lack of a Campaign mode and a distinct lack of a real Storyline. It's all just tournament. It can also get rather repetive in each mode. Plus, if you already have the Pc version, the console version is a downgraded port, thus pointless.

The Bottom Line
For the fresh sense on playing on a console on a large tv, while on Xbox live paying a 16 player deathmatch that rival Halos gaming is a nice accomplishment. Overall, this game is a quality First Person Shooter and is reccomended for top fast shooting action. Fast gamers and shoot em up fans, enter. Slow Rpg/Strategy fans, leave.
