Monstro: Battle Tactics
Description
Monstro: Battle Tactics is a puzzle game stylized as a tactical role-playing game, with enemies that are purposefully written to be completely predictable. It pits Humans and Monsters against each other in a tongue-in-cheek plot as the gods are looking for entertainment.
On Ludus, humans and ancient terror beasts live in harmony, but a cataclysmic event that happens every few hundred years seizes the world with angry sky people from the planet Terra pit the two factions against each other for their entertainment. Ludus is torn into floating islands, creating 20 puzzles for both factions.
The gameplay is purposefully made predictable as the player can learn each of the enemies' patterns, not unlike chess, and use it and the optional undo function to turn the tides of battle in their favor. Each of the missions pose a different puzzle setup where the player and the opposing faction are given a limited amount of units, each with static stats and differing movement speeds, and a set of victory and losing conditions. As the game progresses, the player is introduced to new units and progressively harder level layouts.
