Awesome shooter with great upgrade system

The Good
Knowing that the game first came out as a free-to-play game on mobile I gotta admit that I was a bit skeptical about the PC version. When going from free-to-play to premium a lot of games end up with a somewhat hampered system. But the upgrade system in this game just seems natural. The shooting mechanics are very solid and reminds me a lot of Raptor: Call of the Shadows. The game looks beautiful even on very limited hardware.

The Bad
I guess I got a bit bored with the soundtrack. I often put some music on the stereo when playing games. And this game is not going to change that habit.

The Bottom Line
Sky Force is a vertical shoot 'em up. The enemies drop stars when you shoot them and these stars can be spent on upgrading the weapons and armor and you can buy a magnet to help collecting even more stars. There are 9 levels and on each level you can gather 4 medals. Once you have completed a level the next level becomes available. If you manage to get all four medals on a level the next difficulty level opens up. Each level takes roughly three minutes to complete so the game relies heavily on repeating runs to master the level and earning medals instead of just continuing straight to the next one.
