Creating a character... choose the archetype and the name. There are quite a few class selections.

List of characters. Each character you have can have a password-lock, so you can rest assured nobody else is going to play your character. It actually is a nice feeling...

The mission screen. You can choose the mission you want to go on next, buy and sell items such as enchanted rings and axes of mayhem at the store, and rest at the inn.

The game contains crossbows, but not longbows. This pesky elf will no doubt drop more ammo for the character to use when he dies.

Spells are cast from combinations of runes. As you progress through the game, you'll find more runes and spell sheets that allow you to utilize them. There are three systems of magic; for each system the rune combinations will produce different results.

The Prophet of Doom (hidden behind his spell) just cast a powerful, seeking fireblast. The character is about to be shredded.

When you die, your inventory falls to the ground, some gold is lost forever, and you lose exp. points, but you can still respawn. You can't save during a mission, so you have to play well and die as few times as possible.

The wizard atop the rampart of that castle can cast fireballs. If you're clever, you could use that against his men.

Sword-to-sword combat with a deadly knight. Warrior types are excellent at this, but mages and their kind will be pulped.

One of the knights you are fighting has been hit by a fireball.
