Description

Challenge Letters is a single player word game that was included as a bonus game with Drop! 2 as well as being part of at least one other compilation.

There are two modes of play, Eternity and Winds Of Sand, which correspond to untimed and timed respectively. The game is played entirely with the mouse. The player is presented with a set of lettered tiles and slots into which they can be inserted to make words, there are always more letters than there are slots available. In each set of letters there is one gold letter which must, where possible, be included in the words made. The gold letters are effectively lives, the player starts with a fixed number and each time a round is completed using the gold tile then a new gold tile is awarded, however for every round that does not use the gold tile the player loses a tile from their gold tile rack. The game is over when all gold tiles are lost.
When the gold tile rack is full the player is given a bonus round in which they must correctly identify a single word, doing this resets the gold tile rack and scores points whine failing to do this costs the player both gold tiles and points

There are no clues and no 'right' words to make but all vacant slots must be filled to complete the game. There is no high score table, no hint feature and no save game feature.
