Druid: Daemons of the Mind

Die Kritikpunkte bezüglich Benutzerfürhung und künstlicher Intelligenz muß sich der Druidenzirkel wohl gefallen lassen. Deshalb ist es aber noch lange kein eschlechtes Spiel - ganz im Gegenteil: die ausgezeichnete und fesselnde Story läßt die ewige Herumklickerei schnell vergessen. Zusammen mit der gelungenen Präsentation ist Der Druidenzirkel ein Spiel, das jedem Rollenspieler, aber auch dem Adventureliebhaber viele vergnügliche Stunden bereiten wird.

Hard-core role-playing fans probably won't find solace in Druid, since it's aimed at the novice player. The venerable masters of the CRPG realm, Sir-Tech, have deviated from their usual path with a title that is far from the statistic-heavy titles of the Wizardry series. Druid walks the line between RPG (character development, stats, combat, and magic) and adventure (story driven, simple point-and-click interface) admirably, offering benefits of each genre to the overall package. While this may turn off some veteran gamers, Druid, even with its little quirks, is a fun game, and more accessible to new players than many of its RPG competitors.

The beginning gamers that Druid was designed to appeal to probably will never even notice most of this stuff. They'll be dazzled by the beautiful rendered pictures, engrossed in what really is a very good storyline, and overall will have a pretty good time. Druid is basically a good game that went overboard on simplifying its gameplay. More experienced gamers would probably do well to wait for Shadows Over Riva.

Wer's eher leicht zugänglich und geruhsam mag, schlägt mit dem "Druidenzirkel" erfolgreich ein paar langweilige Winterabende tot. Zum Oberbrüller hat's nicht ganz gereicht: Das gehobene Mittelmaß bei Spieltiefe und Grafik verwehrt den vollen Faszinations-Faktor.

De riktiga rollspelsknarkarna kommer att tycka att det här är alldeles för tramsigt och vanliga dödliga lär knappast finna spelet värt mödan. Druid går bort.
