Video Games (Feb, 1992)

Despite my amazement that Hunt for Red October plays as well as it does, given the source and the way the developers handled the material, it’s still too frustrating and mediocre for its own good. There’s nothing achieved within this game that you couldn’t obtain from a different, better game. Other than that bizarre Tom Clancy image. That guy really needs a new pair of glasses.

Top Secret (Mar, 1993)
Manewrowanie wśród skał przypomina pierwsze gry na komputer Atari 800 XL (z magnetofonem). Autorzy chcieli podnieść jej poziom animowanymi wstawkami pomiędzy poszczególnymi etapami gry. Czy im się udało? Polecam tylko dla maniaków zręcznościówek.

Players control a Sean Connery-looking fellow and must disable bombs in a sabotaged Red October. Disabling them requires the player to spend a small amount of time with each one without being hit. Ammo is limited and animation is choppy. The graphics in this section are particularly dull and the music is just as basic as the rest of the game. While this last ditch attempt at gameplay variety is nice, it does nothing to improve an otherwise poorly thought-out game.
