Många föräldrar ber sina barn att inte åka skateboard inomhus, eftersom det kan vara livsfarligt. Men med Street Skater kan alla föräldrar känna sig lugna. Säkrare inomhusidrott än så går inte att hitta.

Have a few days to kill? Don’t want to tax your mind with some real-time strategy? Like loud music, skateboards, and racing games? Want to go about 40 mph and turn around more times than ‘spin art’? Then get on your board and go find this game!

This is not a bad effort from EA. On the positive side the graphics are tidy, the music is suitable and the gameplay is fast and furious. On the negative side we have occasional camera problems, an annoying commentator and no two player split screen mode. I would also have preferred to have seen a few more circuits.

Despite its rough look, the fact that I was skateboarding made me feel good. Really good. Like when I was at 14, carving bowls at Skatopia or The Endless Wave or at the Snake in Reseda. I can feel the raspberries on my hip now. Ahhhh...I guess the best part of this game is just that -- I really felt like I was skate boarding again. Good on ya EA for bringing the first PSX skateboarding game out. For those who love skating, go buy this. For those who like it, rent this first.

Het feit dat er niet echt veel skategames op de markt zijn, maakt dit spel toch wel een hebbedingetje voor de echte skater. Gamers die nog nooit een paar Vans hebben gehad of nog nooit een oliekickflip hebben geprobeerd, raad ik aan om met een grote bocht om dit spel heen te lopen.

Unfortunately, Street Sk8er is not only the first true skateboarding game for the PlayStation, it's also the first mediocre skateboarding game for the PlayStation.
