The SNES version of Super Punch-Out!! appears in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die by General Editor Tony Mott.

Little Mac

The early screenshots of the game did not have the nameless boxer that you use, but Little Mac, star of the original Punch-Out on the NES.

Punch-Out!! boxers

Super Punch-Out!! stars a few of the boxers from the arcade Punch-Out!! games. Bear Hugger, for example, came from the arcade version of Super Punch-Out!!, as did Piston Hurricane.
