Worldwide Soccer Manager 2008 is the fourth installment in the soccer management series. It builds on the original concept with a host of new features.

For instance, all features in matches now seamlessly follow on from the previous one, there is a mini radar pitch appears during tactical changes, a new advisor system, an improved notebook system, a revamped captain selection and widescreen support. There is also a TV view and players can hold press conferences before and after matches. Other improvements include international management, the board and fan confidence system, the award system, the finance system and a new calender.

The game also includes a transfer centre to track transfers and for the first time players can choose a female manager. Both versions (PC and console) include online play. Game data is based on the 2008/09 football season featuring over 5,000 playable clubs from over 50 countries, and around 350,000 players and staff from around the world.
