Overview edit · view history

KING Art is an independent game developer in Germany.

Since 2002 they have been pioneers in the area of extensive browser games, and have accumulated expert knowledge during the production of more than 30 successfully completed browser game projects.

In 2008 they developed own adventure game engine, which was used for the production of The Book of Unwritten Tales and The Critter Chronicles. The Critter Chronicles is the prequel to The Book of Unwritten Tales.

The Book of Unwritten Tales received rave reviews and became one of the best-selling adventure games in a decade. There was a 2,5 year gap between the German and the English release (April 2, 2009 vs. October 28, 2011). KING Art also did concept work, puzzle design and almost all dialogues for dtp’s Black Mirror 2.

In 2013 KING Art Games ran a successful Kickstarter campaign for the turn-based strategy game Battle Worlds: Kronos. In 2014 they had another successful Kickstarter for The Book of Unwritten Tales 2. Currently they are working on the action-RPG game The Dwarves, which is based on the identically named bestselling novel by Markus Heitz.

KING Art also produces browser games like My Free Zoo and Undermaster, with up to 10 million players worldwide.
