Overview edit · view history

United Front Games Ltd. is a game development studio based in Vancouver, Canada. It was formed in 2007 by former employees of Electronic Arts, Radical Entertainment, Black Box Games, Rockstar, Action Pants, Propaganda Games and Next Level Games.

In May 2009 the company announced to have signed with Activision to develop True Crime: Hong Kong for the publisher. Almost two years later however, in February 2011 Activision Blizzard said to discontinue the True Crime series, canning the game. Following that announcement, at least 25 people were laid off at the studio.

On 2nd August 2011 Square Enix made known to have picked up the publishing rights to the True Crime: Hong Kong project (but not the rights to the name of the series). Development on the game at United Front Games was continued with the new title Sleeping Dogs and overseen by Square Enix London Studios.

The studio's first title, the PS3 racing game ModNation Racers, was released in May 2010. Sleeping Dogs was released in August 2012.

As of October 2016, the studio is closed and all pending titles (notably Smash + Grab) are cancelled.
