GameHouse is a developer, publisher and distributor of downloadable PC games. It was founded in 1998 by Ben Exworthy and Garr Godfrey and the company is located in Seattle, Washington (USA).

GameHouse distributes games through its own direct-to-consumer web site, through third party affiliates, and through distributors.

In January 2004, GameHouse, Inc. was acquired by Real Networks, Inc.. After the merger Godfrey continued to lead the studios until he left in May 2007.

January 26, 2004

RealNetworks acquires GameHouse, Inc. in a cash and stock transaction valued at approximately $35.6 million. Real wanted to expand the number of available games for their RealArcade software.

March 11, 2003

GameHouse ships its first retail CD-ROM. Prior to this release, the games could only be downloaded or played on the website.

May 8, 2002

GameHouse is awarded the Internet World Spring's "Best of Show" Award in the Entertainment category.

February 26, 2002

GameHouse secures a deal with EarthLink. EarthLink will provide its subscribers GameHouse's free web-based games as well as the GameHouse downloadable gaming software.
