"Founded in 1991, Presto Studios Inc., is a San Diego based CD-ROM production company best known for its award-winning photorealistic adventure game, The Journeyman Project.
With the release of The Journeyman Project in 1993, Presto earned a reputation as an industry trend-setter. The company continues to grow and push the limits of interactive entertainment with titles such as The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time, the stunning next-generation sequel to The Journeyman Project, which was released in 1995, and has sold over 200,000 copies to date."

Presto Studios shut down in August 2002 despite being one of the most successful independent game developers in computer game history. The company was debt free and flush from the record breaking sales of Myst III. The owners decided to leave the business on a high mark after evaluating the market.
