Overview

PYRO STUDIOS was set up in 1996 to create games for PC and game consoles, with a top-rate international-level quality, and to become one of the most important developers on the world scene.

These basic objectives have been met and exceeded after just two years, with the release of our first title COMMANDOS, Behind Enemy Lines. It has been 1 on every sales list in numerous countries around the world, including England, Spain, USA, Germany, France, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Australia, Poland, etc, etc. COMMANDOS has sold over 900.000 copies world-wide in just 6 months, and is expected to eventually exceed 1 million units, becoming one of the best-selling PC games in history, being the first product created in Spain that has reached this kind of success.

In March 1999 COMMANDOS: Beyond the Call of Duty was released and has sold in excess of 350.000 units. Whilst being a mission pack in included extra Commando abilities and enhanced graphics. It is a example of Pyro's commitment to creating high quality products and that our focus is gameplay. Putting the emphasis on the fact that we take risks in creating new game concepts, with new gameplay styles, diferent to anything previously released.

In October 2001, the PC version of ‘Commandos 2: Men of Courage’ was launched, followed by its release on Microsoft Xbox and Sony Playstation 2, in September 2002. In total, the Commandos series has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide.

‘Praetorians’, an epic 3D strategy game for the PC set at the time of Julius Caesar's campaigns was released in February 2003. In October of the same year ‘Commandos 3: Destination Berlin’, a tactical action strategy game set against the backdrop of World War II, is released, being a brilliant end to the Commandos saga.

In May 2005 “Imperial Glory” is released, a strategy game for PC based on the conflicts between the greatest empires at the beginning of the 19th century. It immediately goes on the full price PC charts to number 1 in Spain and number 2 in the United Kingdom, the European reference market.

"Commandos Strike Force", a first person action game set in the Second World War was simultaneously released in March 2006 for PS2, Xbox and PC.

In addition to CSF, Pyro Studios continues to work on other titles which, for the first time, include different genres and different formats: from PC to latest generation consoles and even next generation consoles: Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

The company has a staff of more than 150, including programmers, graphic designers, musicians and videogame designers. It is consolidated as one of the global leaders in the videogames development.
