Overview edit · view history

Sierra is a publishing label of Activision Publishing, Inc. for digitally distributed titles made by smaller companies or independent developers, on PC, Xbox and PlayStation. Next to new properties it focuses on contemporary reimaginings of classics by Sierra On-Line, one of the oldest developers. Along with the launch of the label King's Quest was announced, a new game based on the King's Quest series. Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions was the first game published with the Sierra label in November 2014.

Sierra had been previously used as a publishing label by Vivendi Universal Games after the Sierra HQ was closed in 2004 and most of the former subsidiaries were shut down. It was re-launched in 2006 as Sierra Online with a similar goal as the 2014 Sierra: to publish digitally distributed titles with the Sierra brand name. Two development studios were also rebranded as Sierra Online - Seattle and Sierra Online - Shanghai. The Sierra Online label was shut down when Vivendi merged with Activision in 2008.
