Stephen Fry, born August 24 1957, is an English writer, actor, director, TV presenter and column publicist and a proud Oscar Wilde enthusiast. During the course of his long and fruitful carrier he tried himself in many various fields, so he is often regarded to be a polymath.
He contributed to the world of video games by narrating the series of Harry Potter games. That was not a coincidental choice for he is also the one reading all of the successful series of books on tape for the audiobook version. J. K. Rowling herself has said that she was really pleased with the work Stephen Fry has done.
In 2008 Fry took the role of narrator in LittleBigPlanet and a vain mayor of Blackstone in Fable II.
Although he admits that video gaming was never very high on his priorities list (even though Stephen rarely leaves home without a Nintendo DS and has a Second Life account), he's still well aware of all the technological advances made in the fields. Being a self proclaimed gadget geek, Stephen Fry claims to possess the second Mac ever to have been sold in UK (after Douglas Adams bought the first!) and that he has never encountered a smartphone he didn't buy. So it's not a big surprise that in his weekly "Dork Talk” column in The Guardian Stephen Fry admits to being fascinated with the approach Nintendo took for its seventh generation of home and handheld gaming devices.
