Star Wars: The Old Republic - Knights of the Fallen Empire

Knights of the Fallen Empire is the fifth downloadable content pack (DLC) for the 2011 game Star Wars: The Old Republic after Shadow of Revan.

The DLC is the third story expansion and is heavily story driven,with many personal phases and cutscenes, and less focus on farming and questing in open world environments. After the events of Shadow of Revan, the emperor's ghost has disappeared.

Darth Marr and the main character went to confront the emperor who hid in new body. Darth Marr dies and the player character succeeds in killing the Emperor with the help of his son Arcann. But akin to most force users, both their spirits survived. After 5 years, and the fall of the Republic and Sith Empire, the main character wakes up from being frozen in carbonite, thanks to T7 and Lana Beniko, a companion from the main game and from Shadow of Revan respectively.

It turns out the player is on Zakuul, the planet of the Eternal Empire. An empire now ruled by Arcann, one of the sons of the emperor, who killed his twin brother Thexan. At his side stands Vaylin, the only daughter of the emperor. The Eternal Empire has a huge fleet and many Knights of Zakuul, force users who often use lightsabers, but are not Sith or Jedi.

After having escaped Zakuul, the player gradually recruits more and more people to the cause, stopping Arcann at any cost. Soon after, some remnant parties from both the Republic and Imperial sides pledge their allegiance. Players recruit many old companions, both good and dark side characters from the main game, in addition to the new companions from Shadow of Revan. Several new companions also introduce themselves during this story, including the lover of the emperor, and the mother of Arcann, Thexan and Vaylin.

SCORPIO, one of the player's companions, is a very advanced AI in a droid body. Near the end, it turns out she tricked everyone in the new found Alliance and used them and the player to gain control of the Eternal Throne and Eternal Fleet. Meanwhile the player faces Arcann aboard his ship and defeats him. He is found and rescued by his mother, Senya. Vaylin, the daughter tries to kill Senya but is blocked by Arcann.

SCORPIO took control of most of the Eternal Empire's fleet. When Vaylin arrives at the throne she decides to work together with SCORPIO. SCORPIO makes room for Vaylin and becomes her right side man. She has given all gemini bots (robots with based upon herself) free will to make their own decisions. Thus Vaylin and SCORPIO become the new focus of the Alliance.

The story of Knights of the Fallen Empire is preceded by Shadow of Revan, and is followed up by Knights of the Eternal Throne.
