There was a time ....

The Good
This is a very, very short game. The art, sounds and game mechanics are good but what I like most about this is what it's trying to do.
There have been times when I have been down and it's a kind of vicious circle because, well, who do you talk to about it and what do you say? This game, and its DLC, offer some real advice, with Sakuya advising on feeling sad, anxious or lost and Nitori dealing with finances, failure and friends. It's done in an easy, no fuss, non judgmental way that I think would have been helpful to me once upon a time.

The Bad
As a straightforward game this is way too short, I've probably spent three or four times as much time writing this than I did playing the game. However this is NOT a typical game and its length is probably just about right - more and the advice could seem preachy while less would be overly simplistic.

The Bottom Line
I'm not sure what I expected but it wasn't this. Given the title I expected something that was more 'frothy and fun' - instead it was like a heart-to-heart with a big sister.
Not everyone will need this, not everyone will 'get' it.
It would have been useful once upon a time and, while I hope I never need to call upon it in the future, I'm pleased to have it squirreled away in my Steam library just in case.
