Winvade

Winvade is a shareware, Space Invaders variant from Australia.

As with the original game the player controls a vertically firing canon which they can move horizontally across the bottom of the screen, the object being to shoot the descending alien hordes before the land.

This implementation of the game has a couple of novel twists:* because screen sizes vary the developer has provided a scaling option which can be used to make the game area two, three or four times larger than normal

• the game has a choice of craft;
  • Traditional - which look similar to the original Space Invader craft
  • Modern - a new kind of happy little alien
  • Microsoft - which uses Windows, or Windows-like, icons instead of the descending aliens and Bill Gates' head as the bonus alien craft.

The game records a single high score for each session but it is reset for each new session. The game does have sound but this is limited to an electronic pop when the gun fires and a series of pops when the alien(s) land.
