good ports, well done microsoft.
The Good
All the 5 games are very playable, again and again. Microsoft made good choices in them. Also, they have stayed as true to the arcade originals as possible, which is even better as it keeps the original feel to the games alive.
The Bad
Nothing really, but if you're not a fan of Arcade classics, then this game isnt for you(I am so it was!)
The Bottom Line
fun arcade retro look back

Excellent Ports of Classic Games
The Good
Microsoft didn't do anything innovative with these games. They just took some pieces of video game culture and gave them a new life. The ports they did are a good representation of the sights and sounds of these classic games. The included histories and trivia are nice bonuses, too.
The Bad
There's not much to hate about this unless you despise the classic arcade games of the late '70s.
The Bottom Line
A solid port of five classic arcade games.

Trivia
Sound
Since this game was released for Windows 3.1, long before Microsoft ever dreamed of the Game SDK (which became DirectX), they had to develop a solution to play simultaneous sounds in Windows. The only method in Windows to play sounds was MCI, which wasn't designed favorably towards computer game sound. Thus they created the WaveMix library, which enabled Arcade to have a polyphonous soundtrack.
