La Croix Pan
Description
La Croix Pan is a short AGS adventure game set in the town of the same name in June 1944. The player is an Allied soldier of the 82nd Airborne who parachuted down but has not seen anyone else for a day. His squad was supposed to drop nearby and secure the village. He decides to climb a nearby tower and watch the surroundings for German activity.
The gameplay includes exploration and a first-person sniping sequence. There are four main actions (walk, examine, interact and kick), which can be accessed using the icons on the screen or by cycling through them using the right mouse button. During the shooting sequence, the soldier can zoom in and reload his weapon. The game contains original music and a save/load system (including autosave).

The Good
The user interface is nice. Not much actions for the American soldier seems common. The actions vary from walk to, look, interact, use weapon, and kick. The last one action is the main action in the game as it will be seen during the gameplay along with the pre-last one.
The graphics is nice. All the characters are memorable and the locations are well-drawn.
The breath of the sniper and sniper rifle mechanics are also well simulated.
Music is thrilling as it should be.
The Bad
Dear developers, tell me please, what are you storing in the file of savegame sized in 6 megabytes? If there are only one playable person in the game, 5-6 active rooms, 2 inventory items, 4-10 characters, and less than 10 active objects, changing their state? Don't you think that 6 megs are too much for quicksave and autosave files?
Also if the tank came to the village (you may see that zooming your sniper rifle), why it was not involved in combat? Ok. Maybe the driver of the tank is the last Nazi you killed? Why tank does not shoot at the tower, where you are hiding?
Also why the name of main character is not mentioned anywhere to congratulate him with his great job?
The Bottom Line
The game is not just short, it seems the shortest game ever... If you like the World War II theme and you are American, the game is for you. One parachuted sniper hero in ruined uninhabited french village makes his job, killing around 10 Nazi soldiers. The plot as simple as thrilling episode of true hero. Worth to be played, but for one time only during about 10 minutes.
