Cupid
Description
Cupid is a romantic/horror story in the visual novel genre, set in 18th century France, where the player assumes the role of the third person point of view character of Mother – seemingly the spirit of the dead mother’s protagonist, Rosa.
The game combines the art with classical/romantic music to fit the mood. There is, however, no voice acting in the game, leaving everything to the visuals and sound. Being a visual novel, it follows the usual tropes – gameplay is limited to advancing text and making choices (even though these sometimes come with a twist).
Present is the ever more common option of skipping text, mainly useful for someone who has already gone through the game once and is trying to follow a different path, so they don't have to go through the same lines of dialogue repeatedly. The game also features several different endings, as is common for the genre.
