The Good
Tomcat Alley was the first (and only) Sega CD game to feature full screen, full motion video (FMV). It also featured smooth controls, a story line taken from the post-Cold War headlines and introduced a degree of random gameplay.
The Bad
The full motion video is still blocky, grainy and, at times, difficult to watch. For the most part, game play is limited to quickly locking onto specific targets with your controller.
The Bottom Line
In 1994, Tomcat Alley was probably one of the most popular Sega CD games. It was as close as most gamers could expect to get to Top Gun and, for the most part, was fun to play.
