Deal or No Deal: Family Challenge

Deal Or No Deal: Family Challenge is a single player game based on the UK game show hosted by Noel Edmonds.

The format of the game mirrors the format of the show with the player trying to beat 'the Banker' as they open twenty two sealed boxes which contain randomly assigned sums of money inside ranging from 1p to £250,000. The game sees the player selecting one numbered box at the start of the game and eliminating remaining the boxes one by one. At various points 'the Banker' will offer a cash-out deal, the first offer comes after five boxes have been eliminated and thereafter offers come after every three eliminations. At the end of the game when the player is left with two boxes they may be offered the chance to swap their initial box for the one other remaining box.

There are three game modes;* Single Player Mode: This plays just like the show, which is described above

• Family Game: This too plays just like the show but it is a multiplayer game for two to five players. At every point where the banker makes an offer each player has the option of continue playing or accepting the banker's deal, the winner is the player who banked/won the most
• Player vs Banker: This is a two player game, one player takes the role of the banker while the other plays the game eliminating boxes in the usual way. The player taking the role of banker is only active when a deal is to be made, the game offers a choice of three possible deals to select from and the player accepts or rejects the deal as normal. The banker wins if they can persuade the player to deal for an amount that is less than the value in their box, the player wins if they cash out for a higher value than the one contained in their box

The DVD also has a Dream Factory option which takes the player behind the scenes, a Preferences option which cuts out a lot of the comments from the people who open the boxes, and a How To Play option in which Noel Edmonds explains the game's rules

The game was filmed in front of a live audience and real people open the boxes on the player's behalf
