Zero (Nov, 1989)
Plenty of action, plenty of screens, plenty to do!
The Sega game almost matches the PC Engine conversion, its graphic artists have gone to town on the backdrops with good looking sprites to match. Pricey, but as much fun to play as the others.
VideoGame (Mar, 1991)
O Vigilante sempre é chamado a intervir.
GamesCollection (Jul 02, 2008)
Fans of arcade violence should enjoy Vigilante — but I don't think it'll appeal to anyone else.
Once again it's uninspired gameplay, but as scrolling combat games go it's fun stuff that will not easily be beaten.
Vigilante fails to provide much enjoyment. Other than the nice background graphics there is nothing worth experiencing in this game.
Defunct Games (Jul 10, 2005)
Since you're constantly fighting you would think that the developers would have spent time getting it right, but the combat is fatally flawed and leaves the game in dire straights. With only punches and kicks at your disposal, you don't have much to help you fend off the dozens of angry gang members. You can pick up a weapon, but even that barely has any range and doesn't help as much as you would imagine. Thanks to the ineffective combat you are often left open to cheap shots, making this one of the most frustrating fighting experiences you can have. Chances are if you hate the way it feels when you first start, you're never going to appreciate what they're trying to do.
