Still, the SSF Collection is still sure to please fans. By including three games, Capcom is giving its fans their money's worth, and it should help pass the time until the next new Street Fighter game heads home to Playstation. Shoryuken!

I would definitely recommend using an arcade-style joystick with all of these games, because the digital pad of the standard Playstation controller is pretty stiff to be executing "sweeping" motions. Considering this is a two-disc package, Street Fighter Collection seems a little sparse, offering no bonus material. The load times are modest, but there's no auto-save feature. All things considered however, this is a pretty outstanding collection. Note: These games are also available on PS2 compilations.

An excellent idea on Capcom's part to bring this series home to the 32-bit consoles. To date, it is the most accurate home conversion of the Street Fighter series. Lots of options, loads of characters to choose from and beautifully rendered artwork make this a very attractive bang for your buck. A must have for any self-respecting Street Fighter and a game that is enough fun to play that anyone should really check it out!

Street Fighter nuts may gain some sordid collectable satisfaction from this package, and indeed it is well worth getting if you don’t already own Street Fighter Alpha 2. But otherwise it’s just a sad excuse to cash-in on a hugely popular franchise which should have been laid to rest with its pride intact, to be fondly looked back upon over long discussions down the pub. Having it all served-up again is just a pale reminder as to how far things have shifted in the last three years… and it’s frightening!

The sheer number of games bearing some form of the name "Street Fighter II" is staggering. So when Capcom announced that it was putting together a compilation of Street Fighter games, I was stoked. My excitement quickly cooled when I discovered the true nature of Capcom's package. Street Fighter Collection contains Super Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, and Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold, a slightly updated version of Street Fighter Alpha 2. The original Street Fighter 2, Champion Edition, and Hyper Fighting are nowhere to be found. The result is a shallow package that should have been so much more.
