Excellent, excellent, excellent!!

The Good
Just about everything. 3-D interfaces, story presentation, graphics and sound, and most of all, the awesome music. I could listen to choral voices accompanying the "Death of Kharak" mission all day. Enemy AI is crisp, and took me by surprise on any number of occasions.

The Bad
Limited replayability due to the fact that both races use the same mission, only with different ships. I found it kinda disheartening to find the Taidan taking up the same noble cause I just finished up with the Kushan. I wanted to squash the Kushan with my imperial might!

The Bottom Line
Play this game! You will undoubtedly be enriched by it. (Gaming-wise that is :))

Homeworld : Game of the Year Edition = A great way to end the 20th century.

The Good
Pretty much everything. The music is awesome, good enough to be the soundtrack of a big budget film. The graphics look spectacular, especially the backgrounds. The movies in between missions are excellent, and have an interesting sort of...Star Wars in anime type feel. The voice acting, though not perfect, is Pretty Darn Good, and the voices for the Garden emissary and the Bentusi captain are of particular note. The sound effects are excellent, and really do a great job of making you feel like you really are controlling a vast fleet. The missions, though difficult and sometimes frustrating, can be not only won, but mastered if the correct tactics are applied. Lastly, the AI uses sound tactics, though said tactics are a tad predictable (the most glaring case is in the 11th mission, Tenhauser Gate).

The Bad
It doesn't come with a mission editor. It really would have been nice to have been able to make your own single player missions/campaigns. A ship editor would have been nice too. Other than that, no complaints.

The Bottom Line
Homeworld is the best RTS game to come out in many, many years. I would recommend it unreservedly to anyone in a heartbeat.

What a great surprise!!

The Good
I picked up this edition for 20$ a couple of months ago. I didnt hold too much promise for homeworld since it was made by sierra. I remember sierra as the King of Adventures not space. (not counting Space Quest) I have to admit for 20 bucks I got a huge bargin. First this bundle came with the Stradigy guide and a cd soundtrack. Which is a good thing since this is some of the best music for a Pc game that I have heard.
The way you view action in this game is terrific. You can pan from one angle to another with ease. Speaking of ease the trainer in the game is so good at getting you ready to play. Is simply the best into yet for a game. This trainer teaches you all you need to know about the game in only a few minutes. For a person who has little patience when it comes to learing a new game, this is pure gold.
Graphics are good but not blow you away. Some of the backgrounds however are breathtaking. One of the greatest moments in the game is when in the second mission you come home to find your home destroyed and everyone dead. The music is truly a masterpiece. One of the greatest moments in gaming as far as I am concerned.

The Bad
The mission where you have to follow a tight path and then destroy a huge instaltion is just too difficult.

The Bottom Line
Par excellance!
