The Good
Well first off the graphics are spectacular, right up there with Splinter Cell, Doom 3 and Farcry. The voice overs are a great improvement over those HORRIBLE ones from HOTD2. The reloading is much easier in this, instead of shooting outside the screen it will automatically do it for you. And for all you die hard HOTD fans, HOTD2 is unlockable if you beat the game. And yes instead of that lame pistol from the previous game you are armed with a SHOTGUN!!!!
The Bad
The story is crap, the HOTD2 graphics are a little choppy, the only xbox light gun sucks (use the controller its much better), and instead of the cool modes from HOTD2 all you get in this is a preview for the horrible House Of The Dead movie.
The Bottom Line
Decent game by now at a bargain price go pick it up.

The Good
House of the Dead 3 has most of the elements of the previous two. It has a good variety of goons to kill, a tough boss at the end of each level and a really tough boss at the end of the game. What I really like is the weapon change, instead of the old pistol you get a funky shotgun! The storyline of this game links to the first game which the second game didn't which is a good thing.
The Bad
The game has many good sides but also has some flaws. The gameplay like the other two is quite slow. You just kill some zombies and move on, kill some more, move on again. Some of the bosses are also quite irritating and have a little trouble dieing, especially the giant sloth thing. Also, some of the graphics are quite bad, like the commando zombie's legs it dark places. Other than that, I can't think of anything else.
The Bottom Line
House of the Dead 3 is a great buy whether you're a fan or not. This game is great with a light-gun and has a massive trail of blood and gore for you to leave behind.

Trivia
Controversy
The UK Advertising Standards Authority got complaints about an ad for House of the Dead III and publisher Atari was forced to pull it. It featured an image of a corpse with two bullet wounds in it and its hands tied above its head, along with the phrase "the only good zombie is a dead zombie".
German index
On May 31, 2005, The House of the Dead III was put on the infamous German index by the BPjM. For more information about what this means and to see a list of games sharing the same fate, take a look here: BPjS/BPjM indexed games.
Lightgun
As of release, this was the only lightgun shooter on the Xbox. Neither Sega or Microsoft designed a lightgun for the console because of this fact, so Madcats stepped in with their own lightgun for Xbox owners.
