Phil Tossell holds a college degree in Computer Science and joined Rare after graduating, at the age of 21. He was first involved with Diddy Kong Racing for N64, and then became a junior programmer on Star Fox Adventures. He implemented the camera system and was then promoted Programming Lead when the title appeared on the GameCube.
He joined the Kameo: Elements of Power team while it was still being developed for Xbox 1. His original task was to implement all the new monsters, but again he found himself promoted to the lead position. There, he concentrated on the Elemental Warriors and the combat aspects.
