Biography edit · view history

Steve Hendricks wrote the River Raid version for the IBM PCjr.

Steve started work on the IBM PCjr version of Ghostbusters, but the version was shelved unfinished for a couple of years. Steve made a very small contribution to the Intellivision version of Ghostbusters.

Unlike other game designers at Activision who were hired from other companies, Steve was promoted from inside the company, having started there as a PC specialist. He transferred to the newly-formed team of platform translators there on the Mountain View campus.

After leaving Activision in the fall of 1984, Steve returned to software engineering.

Amusingly enough, Activision later confused Steve with another Steve Hendricks, an artist who worked for Atari. When artist Steve did some work for them, Activision reported earnings to the IRS using the software engineer Steve's social security number, since it was already in their employee database!
