I just noticed that US has a mature rating and European a rating of 12+. Did they cut anything in the European version?

With 12/12 (Europe), 12 (Japan), non-restricted 15 (Australia) and just the US with 17, I don't think so. I guess you should ask the ESRB why they applied that rating. ;)

12 in Japan? I didn't see that. Thanks for pointing it out. It gives a good idea on why only US had that rating. I believe that the "summoning" in-game sequences include depictions of kinda like committing suicide, at least from what I've read. It shouldn't be that "dramatic" though if it got a 12 rating. I assume ESRB gave it a rating of 17 because erm, ehh, well, US is US.

It's rated "B" by CERO, which means Suitable for ages 12 and older.
