I'm trying to submit screens made via emulator. First set of screens was rejected, they were 800x600. Here is 320x420 screen, not resized, native: http://img29.imageshack.us/i/97804282.jpg/

Will this qualify?

It's a low resolution JPEG. That'd make it worse,as when you mix JPEG with pixels (especially considering the upsizing of all small screenshots by the site itself), things tend to not qualify.

Suggestion - 320x240x24 PNG

By the way, what emulator are you using? If not pSX, then i'd highly suggest pSX, which doesn't dare 'enhance' graphics, and attempts to play psx games as natively as it can try to.

Note that 320x240 is NOT "the" native res of the PSX. PSX games vary this all the time...

Normally I'm using ePSXe. How do I determine what res is native for a game?

  • Oh man I've already made 20+ screens and was about to hit that 'submit' button.

OK, pSX is definitely better in terms of making screenshots. Strange thing though is that res is different in cutscenes and in actual gameplay (the engine's issue I guess). Take a look if you're interested http://img406.imageshack.us/i/unknown1502201101123508.png/

And thanx for the info, it really helped.

That's normal for PlayStation games

Yes, title screens are even often twice the normal size (640x480)

Epsxe and similar pluginbased emulators (I use SSPSX myself) output native resolution using the softdriver plugin and stretching set 1:1. Capturing with screenshot key doesn't work for me this way then though, I use an external programm. Still, if a game doesn't work correct on pSX, that's an alternative.
