I was wondering why UK/German reviews for this are well into 87 and did a little digging through US sources.

It turned out that Infocom announced this game in their Fall 86 "Status Line" newsletter - but there is this quote: "Hollywood Hijinx will be available in February..."

That's consistent with the US data I've found so far. For example, the Commodore Ahoy! reported about it in it's April 87 issue, as did the Atari Antic

A relatively early reference is in Questbusters January 87, where the game is mentioned in the new releases section, but it's not clear if this may be just based on Infocom's release schedule, and the Qb newsletter's copyright itself is 87 as well.
