I was just browsing Atari ST games and noticed a strange Bug. Apparently, when only a platform is selected but no additional filters, not all games are shown.

Example: http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/atari-st/

This should show all Atari ST games, right? Have a look at the Ultima games in that list; there are:

Ultima IV and Ultima VI

Now if we add a filter for year 1985: http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/atari-st/1985/

There's now is Ultima II as well.

Read what's written above the list.

Do you know what those selections are based on? They do often seem a bit random.

I always wondered that, but recently ran into the code that made the selection. I now can't remember exactly, but I think it's the 250 games with the most user ratings that get picked up. I don't think it cares about the score, just the number of people that rated the games. Which actually makes sense in terms of popularity.

In order to see list that contains more than 250 game entries, click on the "View complete list" link in the upper right corner above that box.

Many people miss that link, maybe it should be made more visible somehow? Say, in a form of a button?

Also: it disappears when the number is below 250, yet it shouldn't, as you still may want to use the list view. Right now the workaround is to add list-games/ to the URL.

Good catch.
