Games based on Yū Yū Hakusho (幽遊白書), originally a manga series written and drawn by the mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi, later adapted to an anime (produced by Pierrot Studios). The hero, Yusuke Urameshi, is a 14 year old teenager who dies while saving a child from being hit by a car. Immediately after death, he meets Botan - a girl who has a guide function of the spiritual world: she is responsible for bringing the recently deceased to the Reikai (Spirit World). Botan takes Yusuke to the Prince Koenma Daioh, and Yusuke is resurrected for a price: he has to work as Detective Supernatural, to recover stolen artifacts of the Reikai, fight demons that escaped from Makai (World of Darkness) and investigate supernatural phenomena.
