A Quiet Weekend in Capri

aka: Un Tranquillo week-end a Capri, Un week-end tranquille à Capri
Moby ID: 10652

"A quiet week-end in Capri" is a multimedia software in double CD-ROM, including two independent computer programs: 1. An adventure videogame, the first with true characters, pictures and sounds of the action place. In the videogame, you are a tourist visiting Capri for the first time. A hotel room is booked for you. You leave Naples with a boat. Once in the island, you take a taxi, then, in the famous Capri's Piazzetta, a newsagent tells you how to reach the hotel, and a tourist agent gives you a Capri map. Suddenly, something very strange happens. You don't know what it is. You stand near the hotel, in the middle of the island, but you find yourself lost and confused. You don't want to give up your week-end, that seems irremediably spoiled, but you have no idea what to do next. Nor you have any chance of coming back to Naples. Luckily you have a notebook with you. Walk through the island, listen to what the characters tell you, notice all the small details, wander through gardens, seashores, churches, monuments, villas and old Roman ruins, collect objects for later use, activate all those strange equipments invented by Capri's famous scientist professor Gravitiello, use your ability of reasoning by deduction. Little by little you will understand... (or you will be entrapped there forever) and finally you will be able to start your weekend in Capri!

2. A program to navigate in the large pedestrian area of the island of Capri. You may walk as you like in the Capri's area, as if you were really there for a week-end. During your exploration, the voice of an invisible tourist guide will tell you about the history and the beauties of the island. You will also meet up with many native highlanders who share with you additional information. The pictures, as well as the characters and the sounds, are original of the islands: the taxi driver and the newsagent you encounter, the birds and the bells you hear, the cicadas singing at the beginning of the descent to the Faraglioni, the paths you walk through, the landscapes you look at, are the same as if you were really visiting Capri. There are about 4500 pictures of the island, including astounding views, gardens, seashores, churches, monuments, villas, paintings and old Roman ruins. They appear as you walk through the island, while the music of an original soundtrack plays along.
