PlayStation 4 version

A Generation's Greatest Gaming Moment.

The Good
The scale does the previous games proud and explores the world's lore further by taking the God of War story into Nordic Mythology: a surprisingly fitting transition from the Greek Mythology it previously explored. Kratos and he's a man with a somber history already established by the game's lore: and you can feel he's an anti-hero trying to do something right in his life for once, and he's getting there thanks to his son Atreus.

This game's world is incredible and its lore is already rich thanks to its utilization of actual Nordic Mythology. And just like the previous God of War games this one has an immense sense of scale and impact for the players.

The Bad
The frame-rate isn't as 'smooth' as the original God of War games, but it does help give it a more distinct cinematic look to the story.

The Bottom Line
Imagine God of War taking place in a pre-Beowulf world and you have this game and its world. God of War is a re-imagining of a franchise turning its iconic anti-hero into a hero.
