Entertaining Life Force rehash

The Good
Abadox follows the same thrust as the familiar Life Force shooter from Konami. But knowing that does not diminish the fact that this is a fun game in itself. A large, vicious creature wants to snack on your entire planet. It's up to you to travel through the creature's body, fighting all of the bizarre biological creatures within, and make it to the heart to destroy the creature. Along the way, pick up the usual weapon and speed powerups to give you an extra edge over the bio-baddies. Oh yeah, the princess is also inside the creature so you have to find and rescue her as well. That's something they had to lift out of the nominal fantasy adventure game.

The Bad
If one thing frustrated me about Abadox it was the standard issue in the flying/shoot-em-up genre that one hit on your characters makes you go boom.

The Bottom Line
Ignoring the cribbed story elements, Abadox stands on its own as a challenging space shooting game to the bitter end.
