Wide, aggressive and typically '80s in appearance, the 1984 model was the stuff of dreams for many car fans. On top of its impressive specs it adopted materials used in F1 cars in order to keep its weight down. But it’s the famous ‘GTO’ badge that struck awe into the hearts of car fans and with its perfect lines and racing pedigree there’s no doubting the fact that it deserves its legendary status.
A total of 273 cars were built with Group B regulations in mind, for which a minimum of 200 cars was required for homologation purposes. But after Group B was cancelled at the end of 1986 there was no future in racing for this wonderful car and it quickly acquired legendary status.
