The Bottom Line
First, you might be wondering if this game really is brutally difficult - my answer is yes, and no. Once you realise that the game is very much a simulation and not at all arcade, then you'll be gliding and mostly thinking about your next move. For a lot of the time you won't need to press anything on the controller as you glide from updraft to updraft, or collectible to collectible. The thrill of this game comes from mastering flight, and having the skill to execute it. You'll unlock various gliders and learn how to increase their speed or lift (reduce/increase wing length, respectively) and how you can use the orientation of the polygon tiles to more accurately read your position on the non-rotating map. It's such a buzz to finish the increasingly more difficult stages. Rest assured there's a hidden gem of a game buried beneath the initial difficulty curve.
