Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 4
Description
Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 4 is the sixth game in the Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune street racing series based on the Wangan Midnight manga. It continues starting with all the features introduced in the Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 3DX+ revision of the previous title. The Ghost Battle introduced in WNMT3 is now changed into an Online Ghost Battle mode. It works the same way, but now ghosts can be fetched online instead of through local means. Also new is a separate cabinet called the Wangan Terminal that can be used to change dress-up parts or other elements outside of the main cabinet. The touch screen cabinet can be used for free for 180 seconds and then payment is required for further actions such as discarding additional cars.
The Outrun mode is no longer present and the Story mode has new content with 60 stages in total. Japan Challenge is a new mode where non-Japanese players get the chance to defeat all players (ghosts) within all the Japanese provinces/regions. Next to the usual graphical update the horsepower cap has been raised to 830 and there are 20 new types of dress-up parts for the car customization. The Minato Mirai Line in Yokohama is a new environment providing Yaesu Line and Minato Mirai as two new courses. The existing roster of vehicles is updated with eight new cars, introducing Chevrolet and RUF as entirely new manufacturers. Eventually through further revisions seventeen new cars were added in total. They are: 2000GT (introduced in rev 1.05 or above), Camaro, Celica XX 2800GT [MA61] (introduced in rev 1.05 or above), Corvette ZR1, Cosmo Sport 110S (introduced in rev 1.05 or above), Crown Athlete, CTR, Fuga, Legacy B4 BM9, Pajero Evolution, RGT, RK Coupe, Savana RX-7 SA22C, Skyline Coupe, Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX, Starion, and Stingray.
Saving and transferring data with the Tuning card as used in all previous title is now replaced with a new BANAPASSPORT card. Players can register up to 100 cars instead of one on a single card. Data from the previous card can be transferred (for instance using the terminal) and by signing up for and linking a Bandai Namco ID, the play data can be restored even if the card is lost. The game also contains new background music tracks.
