Back of Box - Game Boy Advance

Once you turn your Game Boy Advance on and hear that familiar theme song, you know that you're in for the fight of your life. Relive the saga of The Italian Stallion in Ubi Soft's Rocky.

I Am The Greatest

Sylvester Stallone's award-winning boxing movies (well, OK, only the first one copped any Academy Awards) have been faithfully translated to the small screen thanks to developers Rage Software. As street fighter Rocky Balboa, you must work your way up the boxing ranks to become the Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World.

The road to the top is never an easy one. Along your journey, you'll face off against some of the greatest boxers in movie history, including Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago.

Movie Mode

Begin your boxing career by hopping into the extensive Movie Mode. Following the main plot points of the movie series, Rocky must train hard and go toe-to-toe with 20 fierce competitors to become the best.

Training Modes (Sans Beef Bullying)

Training minigames build Rocky's traits in four different categories: strength, stamina, speed and defense. Each training minigame offers an exercise in hand-eye coordination and response time. Those with underdeveloped motor-skills will be pleased to know that an auto-train feature can build strength without the hassle of hard work.

For those who are wondering, the classic beef-punching scene from the first Rocky didn't make the cut.

King of the Ring

Once your training sessions are completed, Rocky faces off with the next-seeded pugilist to gain in rank. Emerge victorious by either knocking out your opponent within 15 rounds or gaining the most points by the end of the match. Points are accumulated by landing punches accurately and scoring knockdowns.

Other Modes

For impatient gamers ready to jump into the ring, a handy Exhibition Mode is available. Simply choose any boxer that you've unlocked and face off against any other fighter of your choice.

Two players can compete in Versus Mode. Two GBAs, a GBA Game Link cable and two Game Paks are required for multiplayer action.

Digital Actors

Ubi Soft has made good use of its movie license by including digital likenesses of the movie actors. Even Mr. T has reprised his role as the intimidating Clubber Lang. Hulk Hogan fans might be disappointed that his star-making role from Rocky III wasn't included, but this isn't a wrestling game.

Do you have the eye of the tiger? Prove your boxing mettle with Ubi Soft's Rocky for your Game Boy Advance.
