Chō no Doku Hana no Kusari

Taishō Period (1912-1926), Tokyo, Japan. It is the age of modernity. Japan embraces Western culture, such as classical music, cuisine, fashion, architecture, military and so on. In the midst of these roaring years, Nomiya family is set back by financial difficulties. The head of the house has a son and a young daughter, Yuriko, whom he seeks to find a person willing to marry her, in an effort to save the financial troubles within the family. It is up to Yuriko to choose which one will she end up with.

Chō no Doku Hana no Kusari (literally "Butterfly's Poison, Chain of Flowers") is an adult adventure game, targeted towards women. Players take the role of Yuriko throughout the entire game, going to different places, talking to characters and making important choices. Players are given the option to change the name of the protagonist. Almost all of the characters are fully voiced. The game features background artwork and architecture reminiscent of the time period.

As per visual novel, the game features numerous endings, some good, others not. It also features five male characters that the protagonist can end up with. Each one of them has their own backstory and their reasons for becoming who they are, thus playing multiple times will give players the ability to witness different storylines.
