Survival horror meets Prince of Persia gameplay

The Good
The graphics and sound in this game are great. The atmosphere is spooky and reverent, especially in the Medieval and Egyptian worlds where the architecture and statues were done superbly. The music is constantly top notch and the sound effects are well done.

There is enough action and atmosphere to have some fun.

The Bad
The game seemed designed for 3rd person perspective and uses a rotational camera that feels very much like a console game, giving the impression that it would be more at home on the Xbox or PlayStation. The 3rd person view looks good but jolts at times when it collides with geometry while the 1st person view just doesn’t give the scope that is required. The puzzles are very simplistic compared to the action elements which get quite hard, especially towards the end which I felt entirely relied on luck to complete the game.

The Bottom Line
Shade: Wrath of the Angels is an action/adventure game that starts off when your brother goes missing during an archaeological excavation. You investigate and discover that your brother has unlocked something evil and is trapped in another dimension. With your glowing sword in hand and a mystical angelic figure as your guide you set off to rescue your brother from eternal damnation.
