Harpoon Classic '97

The Good
"Harpoon" is a phenomenal, classic game that combined phenomenal realism and depth with easy gameplay.

The sheer detail of the game is phenomenal. Thousands of ships, subs, planes, radars and weapons are represented in exactin detail. The simulation of modern naval combat is absolute spot-on and without parallel in any game ever published. Scenarios in the '97 pack are very numerous and varied, and some of them are just plain fascinating.

Anyone with even the slightest interest in naval warfare will be fascinated by Harpoon.

The Bad
The graphics and sound are dated, but frankly it doesn't really matter; this isn't a game that needs them.

The Bottom Line
This game is the absolute pinnacle of modern warfare simulations. They've never topped it.
