WINTREK is a computer simulation based on "Mainframe Star Trek". If you are new to computers, you may not be familiar with this classic program. Often debated as being the first computer game, Mainframe Star Trek appeared in 1970 on IBM/360 mainframes across the country. It became the most popular computer game, and was ported to virtually every mini and micro-computer in the last 20 years. The most well known version is the Apple IIe BASIC version, shipped on the Apple DOS system disk from the late seventies through the early eighties. The original author(s) of Mainframe Star Trek are still unknown.

WINTREK is Mainframe Star Trek for the "latest and greatest" operating system. That is, Windows 3.1. WINTREK supports Multimedia sound, color graphics, and VGA/SVGA monitors. WINTREK contains many new and unique features not found in any previous versions.
