Now is your chance to be a big time director and create original episodes of The Simpsons on your home computer. "Fans are going to be amazed with the types of hilarious cartoons you can create with this title. The technology allows you to easily put Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa -- all of your favorite Simpsons characters -- into almost any situation you want," explains Jon Richmond, president, Fox Interactive. "In a matter of minutes, you can create a custom cartoon that looks as if it came right from the television show, complete with original dialogue. In fact, this is the first time all of the significant cast members have lent their voices to an electronic product."

Developed under the watchful eye of the television show's creator, Matt Groening, the advanced features in THE SIMPSONS CARTOON STUDIO allow you to make your own masterpiece the same way traditional animators do. You can position backgrounds, line up and overlay characters and even arrange props for a true-to-TV cartoon creation. Voices can be added using exclusive dialogue recorded by the actual cast members including Dan Castellaneta, starring as the voices of Homer, Krusty, Barney and Grampa; Julie Kavner as Marge; Nancy Cartwright as Bart; Yeardley Smith as Lisa; Hank Azaria as Chief Wiggum, Dr. Nick Riviera and Apu; Harry Shearer as Mr. Burns, Smithers, Ned Flanders, Kent Brockman and Principal Skinner; and featuring Pamela Hayden and Russi Taylor. Okay man, here's how it works: * First, select a "stage" or setting for your cartoon from more than 35 "totally awesome" backgrounds, colorful fades, textures and patterns ranging from the Simpsons' living room to the nuclear power plant. * Then, open up the animation "toolbox." Take your pick from a "radical" variety of more than 17 animated characters, 250 moving and stationary props, and 20 amazing special effects. Selections can be dragged and placed anywhere on the screen. * Finally -- "Cowabunga!" Add dialogue, sound effects and music to complete the production. There's a repertoire of more than 30 different songs, music selections and sound effects.

For example, send The Simpsons on a vacation they'll never forget featuring "SPLAT," a food fight between Bart and Maggie; "YUCK," a visit to a beach covered in glowing nuclear slime for a swim with sharks; or "CRASH," giving Homer a case of amnesia after he falls out of Bart's tree house making him think he's Mr. Burns. Cartoons saved on floppy disk can be played on other computers, even if your friend's "lame" laptop doesn't have a CD-ROM drive.
