Shockman

aka: Kaizō Chōjin Shubibinman 2
Moby ID: 28405

ShockMan saw its US release in 1991 on the TurboGrafx-16. The game was originally titled ā€œKaizou Choujin Schbibinman 2: Arata Naru Tekiā€, which roughly translated to ā€œRestructuring Superhuman Schibinman: a New Transforming Enemyā€ (Say that ten times fast!) and was a sequel to a game released in ā€™89 only in Japan. Now you can own & play it on your Wiiā„¢ Virtual Consoleā„¢!!

In the first game, the mad scientist known only as Doc created two android super heroes to combat the forces of evil. This time around our heroes are trying desperately to return their bodies to normal and Doc is the only person on Earth who can do it. Unfortunately, Doc has been kidnapped and, go figure, Arnold and Sonya have to combat the invading evil Ryo empire to save him, and the planet!

Control your restructuring super human of choice and battle through 8 levels of challenging side-scrolling platformer action. There are even sequences in the game that are played like a sidescroller shoot ā€˜em up! Arnold and Sonya come equipped with a long range energy gun with the capability of being charged up for a devastating Shock Beam attack, which makes it easier to dispatch your enemies. On top of that, if you can find and collect special "bits" they give you the power to perform a super move even stronger than the Shock Beam!!

But you only get one life (yes just like in the real world.) Once you die thatā€™s it, you have to start back at the beginning of the level. Thankfully the game supplies players with a health bar that can be regenerated by collectingā€¦ batteries!

Relive the action, the drama, and the adventure on Wiiā„¢ Virtual Consoleā„¢ today! Rescue that Pesky Doc and save the planet!

It's been two years since Arnold and Sonya were made into Shockmen. A message from the professor to return to their bodies has them head to his laboratory, but they are ambushed by a mysterious enemy along the way. After narrowly defeating the enemy, they catch a TV news flash announcing the Ryo Empire invasion. They find that the professor has been abducted and set out to rescue him. Shockman is a side-view action shooter that has eight stages, including Action Stages, where you jump and use special techniques, and side-scrolling Shooting Stages. This game expands on the well-paced story from the previous version and contains cooperative elements like shared life and a powerful Team Shockbeam that can be used during two-player simultaneous play.
