The Good
This is a fun game to waste a few hours on. The plot is extremely simple (as it was for Reality Bites' second game, Dark Vengeance), but all that really matters is the arcade style and action. You get your choice of three separate tanks, one that favors speed, one armor, and the final a mix. You then blast through worlds until you are able to access the jump gate to the next level. A particularly nice touch is once an enemy is destroyed, 3d text with the score you earned appears above it and spins around. I usually would whine about a game with such vapid plot a derivative play, but it's just so enjoyable, once the techno music starts thumping, it's hard to get away from.
The Bad
As I said above, the plot and the derivative action. The plot's no biggie to worry about, but the gameplay does get stale after a little while. All the missions consist of is just blasting through various terrains, gathering keys, and then exiting through a jump gate.
The Bottom Line
A truly updated Battlezone.
